Edna’s Life Skills

Edna is a character we created and designed for a client called Edna’s Life Skills. Edna’s Life Skills is based in Noosa, Queensland. Their team of professional mentors and life coaches provide support and guidance to young adults and teenagers with important life skills, such as cooking, preparing for employment and other new skills that their clients wish to learn. 

Edna’s Life Skills engaged Patch Creative to design Edna’s character that would in turn be the face of the organisation. Characters create engagement with an audience and allow them to understand the businesses personas as it feels more relatable and familiar. They help to tell a story and allow the brand to it feel more personable and human.

When illustrating Edna’s character, we had to ensure that she was warm, safe and down to earth feel to ensure the brand's clientele could connect with her. This was achieved through using mellow, earthy colour tones and facial expressions that illustrate her positivity and driven personality. We wanted Edna to provide a sense of familiarity and comfort.
